Tamilnadu Will Become First State to provide Covid Vaccine for Kids || Some Information about New Covid-19 Vaccine for Kids || 2021 ||

TAMIL NADU WILL BECOME FIRST STATE TO GIVE COVID VACCINE FOR KIDS :

      Health Minister M. Subramanian said in a statement on Wednesday that Tamil Nadu would be the first state in the country to vaccinate children and adolescents between the ages of 2 and 18 with the Covid-19 vaccine. He told reporters that the center has issued a formal announcement on the vaccine and suggested that experts should give their views on it. He added that if Tamil Nadu gets approval, the state will conduct the first vaccination.

      A source said on Tuesday that an expert panel of the Central Drug Authority has recommended that Bharat Biotech's Covaxin should be approved for emergency use subject to certain conditions for children and adolescents between the ages of 2 and 18. If the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) approves the proposal, it will be the second Covid-19 vaccine after Zydus Cadila's needle-free ZyCoV-D to get EUA for use by those under 18 years of age. Subramanian added that Tamil Nadu was also the first state to vaccinate pregnant women when the Center announced a scheme for them. He said that over 5 lakh pregnant women have been vaccinated so far.
