Noble prize on Physiology in 2021.

PERSONS GOT NOBEL PRIZE :

The Nobel Prize in the filed of physiology or medicine has been awarded to U.S. scientists David Julius and Ardem Patapoutian. They were cited for discovering receptors for temperature and touch. Nobel Committee's secretary-general Thomas Perlmann announced the winners on Monday.

David Julius, a professor at the University of California, San Francisco, and Ardem Patapoutian, a professor at Scripps Research in California, will share Nobel Prize cheque for 10 million Swedish kronor (one million euros). The first Nobel Prize in 2021 was awarded on Monday to the winners in the field of physiology or medicine. The Nobel jury said in a statement that our ability to feel heat, cold and touch is necessary for our survival and supports our interactions with world around us. In our day to day lives we take these feelings for granted, but how do nerve impulses start to feel the temperature and pressure? This question has been solved by Nobel laureates of this year. The statement added that the priceless discoveries, made by this year's Nobel laureates, helped us to understand how mechanical force, heat and cold can create nerve impulses that help us to adapt to the world.
