INTERNATIONAL DAY OF SIGN LANGUAGES :
Every year, September 23 is commemorated as International Day of Sign Languages.
International Day of Sign Languages 2021 has been announced by World Federation of the Deaf (WFD). The motto is "We sign for human rights".
HISTORY OF THIS DAY :
• International Day of Sign Languages was commemorated on 23 September 2018 for the first time.
• On 23 September 1951, the World Federation of the Deaf was founded.

• American sign Languages is one of the most likely used sign languages in the world.
• According to the United Nations, International Day of Sign Languages was commemorated on 23 September every year to spread awareness among deaf people.
• The president of the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) is Joseph J. Murray.
• Headquarters of World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) is located at Helsinki, Finland.
