India post jobs suitability - Is it suitable for Girls?

 In this article we will discuss about the suitability of India post jobs. We will find out whether it is  suitable for a 10th pass girls or not. Let us discuss which post is suitable for 10th pass girls and which are not. There are some posts which are good for a 10tb pass girl.  There are also some posts which are not good for a 10th pass girl. Which posts are suitable for a 10th Passed girl in India post

The suitability of any jobs depends on the nature of duties,  salary, honour and mental satisfaction.  First , we will find out the jobs offered by India post ,then the eligibility criteria for the posts and the nature of duties.

Jobs offered by India posts .

There are more than 1.55 lacs Post Offices in India. This department has a rich in almost every villages throughout the India. To run this vast organization lacs of  employees are required.  The postal network of India has been divided in 8 Zone for geographical region and 1 zone for the Indian Army.  They have also been sub divided into 22 circles, the Circles are sub divided into  regions and the regions have been divided in to divisions and the divisions have been sub divided into sub-divisions. All these establishments are headed by Administrative officers. They all are administrators . Above of all these establishments, there are Directorate of Postal Services which is headquartered at Sangsad Marg , Delhi .  Although they are administrative offices, their work is supported by Operative Staffs . 

So there are basically two types of Offices , Administrative and Operatives. 

The Operative offices give services to the public directly . The policy of services, the staffs deployment for operative offices , the grievances redressal, inspection of operative offices have been performed by the head of the Administrative offices according to their status. 

Still wondering whether a tenth pass girl is suitable for the posts  or not ? hold on -

The operative offices has also been divided in three layers. Every divisions has at least one head office. There may be more than one head office depending of the geographical  extension of the division.  There are many sub offices which functions under the head office. The sub officers send their daily accounts to the head office. Just like every head office has the wings of sub- offices , Sub-office  has also the wings of branch offices.  Branch office send their daily accounts to their respective sub offices.

Now if you are a 10th pass girl which post you are eligible for?

If you are a 10th pass girl then  you can join the posts of branch offices only if you are selected on matriculation merit wise( determined by your academic score). If you to go through a comparative examination you can join India post as a postman and MTS to the sub offices and head offices also. There are also promotional scope for every posts through limited departmental examination.

Now let's have a look at the the jobs offered by India post for a 10th pass girl

I have said already,  the total posts in a branch office is covered from only 10th pass employee and the selection is made through to the centralized merit list system depending on the total marks obtained in a secondary level Examination. Now let's have a look at the posts and nature of duties of the post in a branch office.

BPM or branch post master 

The Branch Post Master  is the head of a branch post office.  He is the in charge of the office . He is accountable for stamps, cash , and other important documents of the Department. He has to book the registered letters or speed post and Money orders, depositing and withdrawal of money of the customers .He is the custodian of the records, cash and stamps,  passbook , RICT device, IPPB mobile ; basically everything of the office.  A BPM has to reside at the place of his office . He has to arrange the office building of his own costs. He just gets some monthly maintenance costs for his office building.  

Note: all the officials posted on Branch Office level are not the employee of  Department of  posts. They are Grameen Dak Sevaks. Previously the post was named as extra departmental ( ED) . Although they have the opportunity to become departmental by some limited departmental examination. 

ABPM (assistant branch postmaster) 

They are the the deputy of branch postmaster. In absence of the the postmaster he from sperms the duty of branch postmaster. 

MD ( Mail Career) 

They are entitled to do the work just like the postman of a sub  office. They deliver the received letters, parcels, Money orders etc. to the house of the addressee under his allotted villages. Naturally, one branch office Mail Deliverer has to cover 3 to 4 villages. They perform the door to door delivery . They are instructed to deliver all the mail on the day of its receipt. 

MC ( Mail Career)

They are the connector between the Sub post Office and Branch Post Office. Everyday day the take mails consisting of Letters, Parcels, Cash , Stationary etc in a sealed bag and deliver the same to the Branch Post Master. After the completion of the day's work , he send the booked articles , refused and undelivered letters , excess cash and other related official documents to the Sub-office through Mail Career.

Only these posts are recruited on the basis of  academic score . Rest tenth level posts are recruited through competitive examination. 

Note:  on the shortfall of the employee, the department deploys them for any of the posts mentioned above in addition to and/or  the post of his selection. Sometimes they are deployed to the sub officers as a GDS packer and also as the postman  of the departmental  postman post falls vacant.  

  

So these are the post which a 10th passed  girl can get initially. They have  promotional scope to be promoted to the post of postman and letter on postal assistant then inspector of post offices and the continuous higher level of posts.

So as we have discussed earlier in this article perhaps you have already identified which post is suitable for  girl and which is not. If a girl is industrious she can opt for the every post. 

But if You want to find some comfortable from the apparently tough job, you can opt for the posts which allows you to remain indoors. 

You should opt for either BPM, ABPM, MTS or GDS Packer under Sub-office or Head office. If you want to go outdoors you can opt for every post.
